Product violates a Shopping policy: the exact steps
What Google's message means
Google's policy check flagged the product against the Shopping ads or free-listings policies (restricted content, misrepresentation, unsupported goods).
Disapproved, and repeated violations put the whole account at risk of suspension.
The fix in Shopify
- Products → the product: change what Google's quoted policy names — the Title, Description or the first image under Media — so it no longer matches. Save.
- To take a product off Google instead: Products → the product → Sales channels → untick Google & YouTube. Save.
- Then Merchant Center → Products → Needs attention → the product → Request review → “I fixed the issue”. Only after a real change: refused requests slow the next ones.
The fix in WooCommerce
- Products → the product: change what Google's quoted policy names — the product name, the description or the Product image — so it no longer matches. Update.
- To take a product off Google instead: Products → the product → Channel visibility (right-hand column) → Google: ‘Don't sync and show’. Update.
- Then Merchant Center → Products → Needs attention → the product → Request review → “I fixed the issue”. Only after a real change: refused requests slow the next ones.
What it costs while it's down
Every product Google flags this way is out of Google Shopping — no ads, no free listing — until it's fixed. Its listed price is what isn't being shown; a free scan names each product and adds up the listed value at stake.

Enter your store's domain. The scan reads your public catalogue the way Googlebot does, names every product behind each leak and shows the listed value affected.
